Windsor Charter Academy provides a challenging academic program based on the Core Knowledge curriculum that promotes academic excellent, character development, and enthusiasm for life-long learning.
Our mission states:
The mission of the school is to devleop in each child the love of learning, the ability to engae in critical thinking, and to demonstrate the mastery of the academic building blocks necessary for a successful future.

The advanced program strives to strengthen an already rich educational experience by providing addition depth and complexity to the Core Knowledge sequence from each grade level. This allows students to reach for as much as they want to learn.
Literacy classes focus on opportunties for students to deepen the understanding of ideas related to their Core Knowledge unit of study. Students read novels and mentor texts, explore world events to connect them to historical events, and develop ideas to share with other students and the world at large. We use technology to accomplish some of this, but also delve into classic literature and modern elements of literature such as graphic novels.

One purpose of our classroom is to allow students to investigate complex ideas deeply. This takes concentrated time, and our classroom is designed to accomodate those inter-disciplinary investigations.
